National Hunting and Fishing Day is celebrated the fourth Saturday of every September to promote outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and target shooting.
There are many activities across the state you can participate in. Head out and enjoy one near you!
National Hunting and Fishing Day is a designated free fishing day in New York which means anyone can fish the freshwaters of New York and no fishing license is required. It is a great time to try it out.
September 23, 2017, 10:00 AM - September 24, 2017, 6:00 PM @ Washington County Fairgrounds
Established in 2008 and part of the Washington County Fair located in Greenwich, New York, this festival is a celebration of how agriculture plays an important role in arts. Through the production of natural animal fibers (wool and fleece) yarns are produced and made into beautiful arts and fashions. Specialty soaps, healing arts, craft beverages, photography, pottery, jewelry, and more... All items have a start in agriculture or a connection to agriculture.
Under its new name, the event will continue to offer the public education on the products produced in fiber arts, raw fleece, roving, spinning supplies, needle felting, dyes, yarns, and items needed to knit, crochet, and weave.
New artisans and vendors will include pottery, body care products, healing arts, jewelry, culinary arts, craft beverage producers, leather, paper crafts, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood arts, and more.
