At the January 21, 2005 meeting
of the Washington County Board of Supervisors, Andrew Williamson,
Chairman of the Board, and Deborah Beahan, County Clerk, will unveil
the new “With Pride from Washington County” custom license plates.
The plates are immediately available at the Department of Motor
Vehicles office in the County Municipal Center. They may also be
ordered online at www.nysdmv.com, by calling the Custom Plates
office at (518) 402-4838 or by visiting any DMV office. The plates
feature the “With Pride” logo designed by Mike Shissler of Greenwich
Central School. “The County’s ‘With Pride’ campaign is designed to
encourage the purchase of locally-made products”, said Mr.
Williamson. Mrs. Beahan is encouraging residents to purchase the
plates to show pride in The County. As an additional incentive, she
added “If you purchase these plates at the Washington County
Municipal Center, a portion of the purchase price goes back to The
County’s Tourism efforts.” The plates are available for passenger
and commercial vehicles. The initial cost of the plate with a number
assigned by the Department of Motor Vehicles is $43; the annual
renewal fee is $25, which is in addition to the regular registration
fee. The initial cost of a personalized plate is $68; the annual
renewal fee is $50, which is in addition to the regular registration
