Congregate Meals - 4 meal sites located throughout Washington County serving meals 5 days per week.

Restaurant Dining - Tickets to dine at local restaurants to allow greater consumer choice.

Home Delivered Meals - Home delivered meals are provided to persons aged 60 and over who, based on an assessment, are unable to meet their daily nutritional needs. Hot meals are delivered Monday through Friday, frozen meals available for the weekend. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 per meal, however no one will be denied a meal if unable or unwilling to donate.

Nutrition Counseling - A registered dietician is available for phone contact and home visits.

Nutrition Education - Provided by a registered dietician and through the cooperation of the Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Case Management Services - To assure comprehensive and integrated services that meet your current and changing needs.

In-Home Services - Expanded In-home Services for the Elderly Program (EISEP). Non-medical service that assists people who are not able to meet their needs independently. It is designed to serve a population of seniors who are not eligible for Medicaid, but do not have sufficient resources to pay for private care. Services available can include help with eating, bathing, reminders to take medication, housework, laundry, shopping, errands and paying bills.

Lifeline - Personal emergency response system to keep you connected in an emergency.

Caregiver Support - Information, assistance and support to caregivers, in-home respite.

Legal Services - The advice and services of a qualified attorney for seniors who cannot afford legal services of their own.

Health Insurance Counseling and Information - Medicare, Medigap and Supplemental insurance information. Regular seminars throughout the county so that you can make an informed choice about Medicare, Medigap and Long Term Care Options.

Transportation - Pick-up and delivery to medical appointments, or shopping trips when you cannot drive yourself, through a contract with the Economic Opportunity Council at 746-2390. The Granville Lion’s Club sponsors a Senior Shuttle in the Granville area on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you are in need of a ride to a local doctor’s office or a trip to the grocery store, please call 642-9542 to make arrangements with the driver. Glens Falls Hospital Medi-Ride provides transportation for a fee, call 926-2688.

Ombudsman Program - Staff and trained volunteers receive, investigate, and resolve concerns of, or on behalf of the residents of long-term-care facilities. Ombudsmen from the Office for the Aging visit the facilities regularly to: monitor the quality of care, assist residents in understanding and exercising their rights, assure care with dignity and respect, and encourage residents to express their opinions.

Outreach - The Office for the Aging offers outreach visits to the homes of seniors who are unable due to frailty, health conditions, or transportation issues to visit our offices to access services.
