It Happened in Washington County: History in Our Own Backyards!

Washington County Historical Society’s 6th History Fair, "It Happened in Washington County: History in Our Own Backyards! is fast approaching! This event will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Hartford Central School, 4704 NY Rte. 1490, Hartford NY. There will be numerous exhibits by town and village historians and historical societies from around the county. Represented will be: Easton, Fort Ann, Fort Edward, Granville (Slate Valley Museum and Pember Museum), Greenwich, Hampton, Hartford, Hebron, Hudson Falls (Kingsbury), White Creek, Whitehall, Gill Room (Greenwich Free Library), NorthStar Historical Project, Walloomsac Chapter SAR, Willard’s Mountain Chapter NSDAR, League of Women Voters’ of Saratoga County, and the Postal Service in Washington County. There will be programs all day for all ages. 

 At 12:30 p.m. there will be a concert for all ages performed by folk singer Dave Ruch who will sing songs from Eastern New York and the Adirondacks. Attendees may eat their lunch during the concert. Hartford Stewarts Shop will be there with food and drinks for purchase through lunch. 

This concert is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council.

There is no charge for the History Fair or the Dave Ruch Adirondack Folk Music concert, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
