Alcohol / Substance Abuse Program
Goals
  • Provide drug / alcohol assessments for offenders who were court ordered to participate in an assessment.
  • Offer treatment alternatives for offenders facing a jail or prison sentence who have indicators of having a problem with alcohol and/or other drugs.
  • Monitor and report to the court offenders’ compliance with their treatment recommendations.
  • Provide a drug / alcohol education class for young offenders.

Target Population
  • Offenders 16 and up who are court ordered to complete a drug/alcohol evaluation
  • Incarcerated offenders who are identified by the pre-trial coordinator to have indicators of problems with alcohol and/or drugs
  • Juveniles who are ordered / referred to complete a drug / alcohol evaluation by family court, probation and/or social services

Alcohol & Substance Abuse Awareness Class
Class Goals

  • To provide participants with information about the negative consequences of using drugs / alcohol
  • To provide the court with an alternative option for low-level offenders whose charges were related to alcohol or drug usage

Target Population
  • 13- to 20-year-olds
  • Offenders charged with underage drinking, possession of marijuana and petty larceny involving alcohol or drugs
  • Juvenile delinquents and/or persons in need of supervision (PINS) who are charged with any of the above or a status offense, violation of school code of conduct or as a youth court sanction
Class Components
  • Participants are required to pay a $50.00 registration fee.
  • Participants are required to attend the 3-hour class.
